Content Areas:
Specifically for math
Primary Use:
Teacher and Student Resource
Summary:
This URL takes the user directly to the
printable math tables and explanations. They
have their tables and information divided into subject areas:
General Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc.
Students could use this site to look up concepts they have forgotten how
to do. One feature I liked was the
on-line calculator section. In this
section students can type in homework problems and have it solved, graphed,
factored, and more.
Comments:
One weakness of the site is all the words
used in their descriptions of concepts. I
feel students will not take the time to read all the information.
As a part of the whole Hoxie website students can access games which
could lead to distractions. The
math related link on the web section was one of my favorite parts.
Through this section the user can find a problem of the day or fact of
the day, or other useful information.

Math and Science
Primary Use:
Teacher and student source
Summary:
This website has many positives.
It is available in English, Chinese, and Korean.
It is a virtual physics laboratory.
Some of the different topics addressed are mechanics, dynamics; wave,
thermodynamics, electromagnetic, electronics, optics & light, modern physics
and a practice one on reading a metric vernier caliper.
Comments:
The website was easy to navigate.
It offered 3 choices of language. It also said they try to add to new
applets every month. I thought the vernier caliper section was a nice
reinforcement for my students.
